Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Shortage Category and/or Critical Needs to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This is a Temporary Not to Exceed 1 year Park Ranger position assisting the staff with the routine day-to-day duties required to operate and maintain the recreational facility to which employee is assigned.



Duties
  • Patrol recreation areas to assist visitors and notice unsafe conditions.
  • Assist in the overall project interpretation for the public.
  • Collect user fees and issue permits for recreation use.
  • Assist rangers with resource management activities (e.g. planting wildlife food plots, forestry surveys, data collection, marking boundary lines).
  • Explain Park rules and regulations (e.g., fire, safety, and sanitary) to visitors.
  • Utilize a personal computer to enter, retrieve, compile, and transmit data.
