RN Educator-High Risk Pregnancy Center

The High Risk Pregnancy Educator is the clinical expert in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area. This Nursing Educator functions both autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers to manage, support, and coordinate the care of acute and/or critically ill patients.
This position is responsible and accountable for:
- The orientation of new staff to the unit and the development of current staff
- Teach didactic classes
- Manage the CETT Drills (Critical Event Team Training)
- Collaborate with other educators in the hospital
- Cohesively work with the Labor & Delivery Educator
- Review and maintain unit-based policies
- Providing leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost- effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues.
- Providing clinical teaching and supervision and directing patient assignment for new and experienced staff.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- National certification in clinical specialty required – must be acquired within 1year of start date. Role certification preferred.
- AHA BLS and/or NRP Instructor Status preferred
Minimum Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Master's Degree of Nursing. Previous role as educator/preceptor preferred.
- BSN acceptable
- Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience.
- To utilize evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies.
- Computer skills using various applications: WebEx, MS Teams, EMR, Outlook, Excel, etc.
