The Sr Manager, Strategic Programs helps create and align the Pharma and Personal Care Division's strategy to needs/gaps in capability and deploys the Enterprise Excellence activities by providing both leadership and technical direction.This role is responsible for driving and leading cross-functional projects and programs aligned to the division's strategic imperatives. This position has significant impact on delivering financial and other targets established for the Division. The position reports directly into the business.

Main Responsibilities

Program/Project Management

  • Project management of multiple complex project teams which represent a variety of functions.
  • Complete ongoing project identification, reviews, and ensure alignment with top priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and provide regular updates on project status and progress.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain up-to-date timelines inclusive of all critical milestones, key interdependencies, and resource constraints, applying appropriate project scheduling techniques. Establish critical action.
  • Directs project team, as required, assigning duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority with the ability to step in and execute portions of the work plan where necessary.
  • Manage project development from initiation to closure and track financial results where appropriate.
  • Works with Project Sponsor and stake holders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing. Ensure projects are managed within the appropriate scope.
  • Accountable for project results.
  • Resolves any issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle.
  • Performs risk assessments to develop response strategies.
  • Completes post -project evaluations to determine if the expected results were successfully delivered, and develops lessons learned for continuous improvement in project delivery.
  • Demonstrated success initiating change and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience in managing multiple, diverse priorities & projects.
  • Ability to clearly communicate cross-functionally.
  • Self-driven, outcome-oriented, with a bias for action.
  • Demonstrated comfort learning new things and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Compiles data from different sources (i.e. businesses, functions within business, databases, etc.)
  • Analyzes information for ROI and Cost benefit.
  • Works with businesses partners to determine needs, requirements, resources, etc.

Communication/Leadership:

  • Establishes and executes program/project communication plans to Project Sponsor, Stakeholders, and impacted groups. Coordinates and organizes meetings as appropriate or assigned.
  • Works with Project Sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing.
  • Clearly communicates expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members
  • Negotiates with project stakeholders and/or Project Sponsor to obtain resources or materials
  • Leads, coaches, and motivates members of project team on a positive basis

Experience and Education Level:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years' experience in managing project initiatives in manufacturing/supply chain or cross functional in nature. Projects focused on cost reduction, continuous improvement, value stream optimization, or business process optimization.
  • Verbal/written communication skills needed to deliver project solutions and keep all stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to influence/persuade decision makers and motivate team members.
  • Strong analytical skills, self-driven, outcome-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success initiating change and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Complex project management across multiple functional areas
  • PMP Certified and/or Black Belt Certified
  • Experience with resin technology manufacturing, applications, or use.
  • Demonstrated perseverance in the face of challenges and relentless commitment to higher standards
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; able to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations
  • Thorough knowledge of, and experience in, change management principles and methodology.
