Job Location: Dallas, TX
Essential functions:
- Support month-end and year-end accounting close as necessary to meet monthly close schedule
- Handle monthly commission calculations for sales commission payments
- Prepare monthly business GM packages and executive financial package
- Investigate and provided monthly analysis of location and product line performance while highlighting drivers of variances vs. budget, forecast and prior years.
- Initial focus will be on operations including job profitability, labor utilization, quoting accuracy and success rates
- Work with both finance and non-finance departments to review results of analysis and develop rolling forecasts for the remainder of the fiscal year; including revenues, expenses, headcounts and P&L.
- Monitor trends of key financial metrics and drivers for the business units
- Perform ad hoc analysis as needed
- Coordinate with all levels of management to support the annual budgeting process and prepare the annual budget package for all business units.
- Understand and align budget information with individual department planning tools
- Enter budget and rolling forecast into budget software, both local and corporate systems
- Ongoing development of financial reporting and analysis tools; help develop, support and improve business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to develop P&L reports for analysis by job, location, customer, and/or product line.
- All other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in financial reporting and analysis, preferably in a service or project based company
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to complete projects timely and accurately is critical
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Basic knowledge of Great Plains, BI360 and management reporter a plus
- Accomplish goals with little or no supervision, dependent on self to complete objectives and determine when escalation of issues is necessary
- Ability to communicate complex financial principles to non-financial peers in an understandable manner
Physical Skill & Effort:
Limited manual dexterity required. Work requires infrequent physical effort. Must be able to access all parts of the field and site operations, including climbing ladders. Work requires a few simple, but rapid hand operations. Work requires simple, easy muscular movements.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible/little or no exposure.
