Pillsbury is the largest and most profitable brand in NAR (North American Retail) and is striving to be NAR's first $2B brand. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand focused on growth through core renovation and innovation. In this role you will serve as a technical team lead for core refrigerated canned dough - the largest part of the Pillsbury portfolio - including sweet rolls, crescents, and biscuits. The role will focus on developing core renovation strategy and execution, core maintenance, Cost Optimization execution, as well as serving as Cost Optimization liaison to the Pillsbury HMM (Holistic Margin Management) pipeline team. Accountabilities include individual project leadership, leading a team of developers across canned dough, and serving as the primary technical point person for initiatives that impact multiple products across canned dough.

The right candidate for this role will bring a strong track record of technical excellence, project leadership, coaching and collaboration. The responsibilities in this role will provide you with a high level of cross functional exposure, technical team leadership, and will develop your ability to navigate and influence across our organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and advance the core renovation strategy and pipeline for Pillsbury through partnership with R&D product leads, Brand, CMI (Consumer Market Intelligence), PGI (Product Guidance), and other cross-functional partners
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners and R&D team members to advance core renovation, maintenance, and HMM initiatives across the Pillsbury canned dough portfolio
  • Manage and lead multiple technically complex projects: create technical plans, timelines, risk assessments and mitigation plans
  • Provide technical coaching and guidance for canned dough R&D team
  • Serve as HMM liaison to Pillsbury HMM pipeline team
  • Serve as primary R&D point for canned dough initiatives that impact multiple product lines
  • Complete gPLM, PSA, Eclips, ELN, etc. activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or Master's in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering or related field with 7+ years of product development experience
  • Ph.D in Food Science, Engineering or other related fields with 5+ years of product development experience
  • Experience working on core products
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with a strong ability to drive in a business facing role and representing the strong R&D (ITQ) voice
  • Strong acumen in business processes
  • Ability to partner cross functionally with broader R&D team, manufacturing plants, and external suppliers
  • Position will require some travel (10%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of product development experience
  • Experience working in baked products, specifically canned doughs
  • Prior technical team leadership experience

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $ $ / Annually.
