Profile Overview

DeployHQ is in search of a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails (with Devops) to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on both internal and external systems, including websites, while closely collaborating with our talented designers and engineers on a wide array of projects. You'll also contribute significantly to our suite of products, including DeployBot and DeployHQ.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with designers and engineers on various projects.
  • Make significant contributions to DeployHQ and potentially other products.
  • Work on both internal and external systems, including websites.
  • Develop and maintain code using a variety of frontend and backend technologies, with a focus on Ruby on Rails, React, Docker, Linux (Ubuntu), RabbitMQ, and MySQL.
  • Utilize cloud platforms like AWS, Katapult (Krystal), or GCP to deploy and manage applications.
  • Practice version control using Git and GitHub, CI/CD and GitOps,
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Support, mentor, and motivate other team members.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems collaboratively with other team members.
  • Potentially participate in UI/UX design tasks (highly desirable).

What You bring to the table

  • Comprehensive knowledge of essential frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with backend languages, preferably Ruby or PHP
  • Proficient understanding of backend frameworks particularly Ruby on Rails or Laravel.
  • In-depth knowledge of source control using Git & GitHub.
  • A commitment to staying up-to-date with the rapidly shifting landscape of our industry.
  • The willingness to support, mentor, and motivate other team members as needed.
  • An ability to collaboratively solve complex problems with other team members.

Highly Desired:

  • Interest in and experience with UI/UX design.
  • Knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and composition of code.
  • Proficiency in using GitHub for project management, including Issues and Projects.
  • Deep knowledge of specific cloud providers, such as WPEngine, Shopify, Netlify, Vercel, or Kamal.
