Summary

The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is seeking a well-rounded Diagnostic Radiologist with experience in Mammography. This position seeks to hire a general radiologist with experience in mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast procedures. Additional needs of the practice are strong general radiology skills. NFSG VAHCS consists of two medical centers, four large multi-specialty outpatient clinics and eight small community-based primary care outpatient clinics

The Physician Radiologist may serve a dual role as a breast imager and interpreter of general diagnostic radiology examinations. The diagnostic radiologist provides a spectrum of image interpretation, image-guided procedures, and patient care services within the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology and possesses additional subspecialty expertise in Mammography/Breast Imaging. Physician (Diagnostic Radiology) contributions to quality assurance and performance improvement, oversight of technical quality, education of staff and trainees, committee assignments and other activities that support clinical operations and the mission, values and goals of the VA and the Medical Center.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a full time Staff Radiologist for Diagnostic Imaging Service. Areas of Expertise:
  • Mammography and breast imaging experience
  • General diagnostic radiology skill set including radiography, fluoroscopy, US, CT, and MRI.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Interpreting the spectrum of breast imaging studies including screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and perform interventional breast biopsy procedures including ultrasound and stereotactic needle biopsies and wire localizations.
  • Consultations with referring clinical services and supervising the administration of medications, including contrast agents, by technologists and/or nurses.
Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

(Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
