Reviews, selects, develops and disseminate suitable educational and counseling materials on normal and therapeutic nutrition for clients, community and for gestational diabetic clients
Assists with explanation of program and research findings to the Indian Health Service, Indian community and educational and allied groups concerned with the control and prevention of Type 2 diabetes
Provides medical nutrition therapy to individuals and nutrition education to groups in outpatient or community settings directed at control of diagnosed diabetics and other disease prevention
Conducts nutritional assessment of clients, developing nutritional care plans with them and their families consistent with cultural, social and physiological requirements
Plans for and participates in group teaching and training of clients, staff, and community members to expand services and increase public awareness of control and prevention of diabetes
Provides consultation to professional and paraprofessional staff concerning diets and nutrition; records information in medical records regarding nutritional requirements, patient's progress, education, follow-up, etc.
