This position is for an individual to work in Dr. Maria Gomes-Solecki (PI) laboratory. Under the direction of the Principal
Investigator (PI) the Post Doc will perform a variety of well-defined laboratory operations in the Department of Microbiology,
Immunology and Biochemistry.
The research field is host-pathogen interactions in mouse models of spirochetal infections that can cause Lyme disease and leptospirosis.
Qualifications
PhD or equivalent degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or related fields.
Must be highly skilled and knowledgeable in common microbiology techniques, molecular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture and immunology. Must be able to work under BSL2 conditions and operate without direct supervision. Mandatory work with laboratory animals (ABSL1/ABSL2). Familiarity with Compliance (IBC, IACUC) and Lab safety protocols.
