These engagements will pave the way for new insights into innovative educational practices that will propel the field forward.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Research and Innovation: Participate in cutting-edge research in the field of education, with an emphasis on identifying innovative practices and solutions that can be applied globally.
2. Global Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with J-WEL member universities across the globe to develop and implement initiatives that align with the lab's mission and goals.
3. Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate a two-way exchange of knowledge and best practices between J-WEL and its member universities, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
4. Networking: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including MIT faculty and administration, educators, researchers, and policymakers, amplifying the global impact of J-WEL's initiatives.
5. Project Management: Lead, coordinate, collaborate, and contribute to projects aimed at advancing education-related objectives, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with stakeholders.
6. Teamwork: Be part of a dynamic team that collaborates to meet J-WEL's overall mission and objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
1. Global Engagement Strategy:
● Collaborate with the J-WEL team to identify opportunities for collaborative initiatives, joint research projects, and knowledge-sharing platforms on a global scale.
● Develop and implement a comprehensive global engagement strategy to strengthen partnerships with J-WEL member universities.
2. Workshop and Event Facilitation:
● Organize and lead workshops, webinars, and events that promote knowledge exchange, capacity-building, and collaboration among member institutions.
● Facilitate discussions and activities aimed at addressing specific educational challenges faced by diverse global communities.
3. Communication and Relationship Building:
● Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including MIT faculty and administration, universities, educational organizations, and governmental bodies.
● Effectively communicate J-WEL's mission, initiatives, and research findings to diverse audiences.
4. Needs Assessment and Impact Evaluation:
● Conduct needs assessments among member universities to understand their educational challenges and opportunities.
● Work in collaboration with the J-WEL membership team and J-WEL Grants and data administrator to design and implement impact evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of J-WEL's engagement efforts.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
● Analyze data related to global engagement activities and use findings to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
● Prepare regular reports and updates on the progress and impact of global engagement initiatives.
6. Research and Thought Leadership:
● Contribute to original research in the field of global education, producing high-quality publications and reports.
● Contribute to the thought leadership of J-WEL by staying abreast of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in education on a global scale.
7. Cultural Competence and Inclusivity:
● Demonstrate cultural competence and awareness when engaging with diverse international stakeholders.
● Foster an inclusive environment that values and respects the perspectives and contributions of individuals from different backgrounds.


Qualifications:
● Doctorate in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
● Proven experience in global engagement, collaboration, teamwork, and partnership development.
● Strong research background with a focus on education innovation and technology.
● Excellent project management and communication skills.
● Proven ability to conduct impactful research in the field of education.
● Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, international setting.
● Facility and significant experience in working in a collaborative team environment.

Supervision Received:
The Postdoctoral Associate - Global Engagement will report directly to the Faculty Director of the Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL) at MIT. In this collaborative and dynamic work environment, the successful candidate will receive guidance, mentorship, and support from the Faculty Director in executing their responsibilities related to global engagement.


Key Areas of Supervision:
1. Research Mentorship:
● Engage in collaborative research efforts under the mentorship of J-WEL's Faculty Director.
● Receive guidance on research methodologies, data analysis, and the preparation of research outputs for publication.
2. Strategic Guidance:
● Receive strategic guidance to align global engagement initiatives with J-WEL's overall mission and objectives.
● Work with the J-WEL Management Team to develop and refine the global engagement strategy based on the evolving needs of member universities.
3. Project Oversight:
● Work closely with the J-WEL's Faculty Director to define project scopes and objectives related to global engagement.
● Receive oversight and feedback on project milestones, ensuring alignment with J-WEL's research and academic innovation priorities.
4. Professional Development:
● Benefit from professional development opportunities and mentorship to enhance skills in global engagement, academic innovation, and leadership.
● Participate in regular performance reviews and goal-setting discussions to support career advancement.
5. Networking and Relationship Building:
● Alongside the J-WEL team, building and nurturing relationships with global stakeholders, universities, and educational organizations.
● Receive support in representing J-WEL in international forums and conferences.
