The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. We accomplish our mission by providing objective and reliable information and analysis to the Congress, to federal agencies, and to the public, and recommending improvements, when appropriate, on a wide variety of issues to make government work better.
This vacancy is for Summer internship positions. The anticipated start dates begin in May 2024.
Duties
This internship opportunity is located in the Office of Information Systems and Technology Services (ISTS), Budget, Acquisition, and Contracts Group (BACG): Assist in performing budget and procurement formulation and administration duties using Financial and MS office systems.
The work assignments may involve any of the following tasks:
- Develops knowledge of the roles and mission within GAO.
- Develops knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques needed to carry out individual work assignments.
- Participates actively in scheduled training programs.
- Participates with senior staff in conducting non routine projects.
- Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects and initiatives.
- Assist in performing budget and procurement formulation and administration duties using Financial and MS office systems.
