Dir. Data Platform Engineering Lead

The Data Platform Engineering Lead position leads the development and management of designing and creating network systems, databases, and self-service analysis dashboards to support consumer, advisor, and plan sponsor analytics needs. While leading a department that includes multiple teams led by managers or team leaders, this job has ownership of short to mid-term (1 to 3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction for the team that manages projects and process that assists with the designing and implementation of company information technology (IT) systems. While influencing others to accept approved practices and approaches, and effectively communicating with executive leadership, this job is also responsible for ensuring the strategy for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems is delivered.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops organizational information systems strategies and goals for the business.
  • Oversees the planning and design of systems engineering projects and processes.
  • Coaches and provides system engineers with technical and strategic direction for the development and maintenance of information systems that are in-line with business goals.
  • Advises the management team on the upgrades and enhancements to software, hardware and network systems throughout the organization.
  • Monitors the implementation of systems, databases, and networks, ensuring that they support business needs.
  • Oversees engineering, software engineering, integration, and testing support efforts.
  • Communicates with department and senior leadership the importance of information systems in order to minimize risk, improve the performance and productivity of the organization.
  • Provides engineering and technical support and advisement regarding problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems.

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred

  • 8+yrs of experience in Technology related field
  • 8+yrs of programming experience with languages such as (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python...)
  • 5+yrs of experience in the Fin Tech industry

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience providing reports directly to a C-level executive
  • Experience working cross functionally with leaders from other organizations
  • Experience as a Polyglot Programmer preferred
  • Experience leading the planning, requirements, and design of engineering projects
  • Experience mentoring other developers

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $143,300/yr. - $196,500/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
