Faculty members earn teaching credits in accordance with the Faculty Workload Policy by aligning teaching strategies with the Baker College Learning Model, utilizing appropriate learning technologies, and revising curriculum as assigned.

Attendance at Professional Development training is mandatory, as is collecting and submitting student learning assessment data.

Additionally, faculty provide detailed feedback on student performance and participate in the Faculty Growth and Evaluation Process as well as relevant system committees, subcommittees, projects, and activities.

The successful candidate will believe in and support the student first philosophy while contributing to the overall success of Baker College, while acting as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Biology (Anatomy & Physiology) or Microbiology, or possess a Master's degree in another closely related field along with 18 semester hours of graduate coursework in the content area.

Previous experience in higher education teaching is preferred. Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with Canvas, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and Internet navigation, is required. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Candidates should be flexible and available to teach daytime, evening, and weekend classes as needed for the specified courses.
