Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking applications for a Manager, Network Operations for the Office of Information Technology. The Manager provides high-level technical leadership, project oversight, administration, and strategic vision for the campus network, including voice, video, data and wireless. The position is responsible for network security, firewalls and phone network infrastructure. The Manager works with outside vendors for purchases, product updates, equipment exchange, information, best practices, and to facilitate equipment installations. Responsibilities will also include oversight of network operations for the University of Nevada School of Medicine's statewide clinical operations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience OR

Master's Degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience.

Related Experience: Network operations and/or system administration including TCP/IP, router and switch management and administration or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a large network operations environment
  • Unix administration
  • Supervisory experience in the computer and networking field.
Schedule or Travel Requirements
  • Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
  • Work outside typical hours is required
  • Travel to conferences, training or other network locations is required
