Learners including medical students, residents and PHM fellows rotate through the newborn nursery allowing for a spectrum of educational opportunities. Our division works closely with the TTUHSC medical school and pediatric residency program providing oversight on inpatient rotations, education in hospital medicine, and mentorship. We have a well-established, accredited PHM fellowship program with one fellow per year. We are committed to training students, residents, and fellows to be successful in their future careers and place a strong focus on education and evidence-based practices.

Faculty within the division serve in a variety of roles across the medical school and hospital systems including the freestanding children's hospital CMO, leaders of the organized medical staff, assistant dean for undergraduate medical education, director of the fourth-year pediatric student curriculum, third-year student pediatric clerkship director, and leaders in quality improvement and health information technology at our clinical sites.

Our group has a strong spirit of comradery. We work very nicely together and enjoy planned monthly get-togethers for the division outside of work as well.
