About the Role

As a Pediatric Hospitalist at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, you will be part of a dynamic team of 11 pediatric hospital medicine physicians providing coverage for inpatient pediatric services at multiple hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary Admitting Team: Act as the primary admitting team for many of our pediatric subspecialists, providing high-quality patient care and ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Co-Management: Participate in co-management with surgical specialists at each hospital site, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting excellent patient outcomes.
  • Sedation Service: Provide sedation service at Covenant Children's for children undergoing procedures or sedated imaging, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Scheduling and Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a 7-on-7-off schedule with 24-hour evening call from home, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
  • Administrative Time: Have built-in administrative time to focus on tasks and responsibilities, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
  • Education and Mentorship: Work closely with medical school and pediatric residency programs, providing oversight on inpatient rotations, education in hospital medicine, and mentorship to students, residents, and fellows.
  • Additional Shift Options: Participate in additional shift options at the High-Risk Newborn Clinic, expanding your clinical expertise and experience.
