I-State Truck Center is looking for an Entry level Truck Technician for our Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota location. We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) to join our team who are specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more We are offering highly competitive wages

Diesel Technicians will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components in trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and a passion for working with diesel engines.

This is a Monday through Friday day shift position

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties

  • This is an Entry Level position, developing and learning a skilled trade while working with Factory Trained/Certified Technicians.
  • Entry level troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all types of trucks
  • PM work, oil changes, lights, A/C, brakes, tire changes, basic tech work
  • Will train and grow entry level techs into full blown diesel techs
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy duty components
  • Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department and customers
  • Keep paper work updated and handed in upon completion

Diesel Mechanic Desired Skills/Qualities

  • Technical degree or certification a plus
  • Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them
  • The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A strong desire to learn and grow your technical skill set with heavy duty trucks
  • Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
  • Must have your own set of general tools
  • Use computers for web based training and work order system
  • Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
