Assists with customer service and information processing for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship in a professional manner; provides information concerning federal, state and institutional financial aid programs as well as a general information regarding the admission and enrollment process. Performs general office work and other related activities, processes, and functions for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

Typical Duties/Job Duties
  • Provide front line customer service through in-person, phones and email. Answer general financial aid and scholarship questions regarding policy and process. Refer more detailed questions or need for assistance to other in the office.
  • Assists with the intake of forms and other financial aid and scholarships information – processes, collects, and distributes documents to staff members; updates tracking requirements and document Imaging – uploads documents, collect and review documents for accuracy..
  • Assist with the verification process and reviews the information in the Banner/Workflow systems.
  • Reviews information for accuracy and communicates with applicants concerning the requirements needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state and institutional aid program regulations and processes.
  • Support the training and over site of student workers. Accesses a variety of computer programs, particularly the BANNER system database, OnBase Imaging database, Workflow, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Customer service mindset/skills/attitude. Proven ability to communicate (oral and written) along with evidence of ability to maintain good professional/interpersonal relationships. Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs as well as financial aid & scholarships philosophy and fundamental practices/procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
High school or equivalent and two years experience working in an office environment with customer service operations. Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Background in Financial Aid or University setting.
