Job Description :
Purpose


To coordinate and facilitate replenishment of raw materials to support the customer order fulfillment process, from/to all Company production facilities, vendors, 3rd party manufacturers, and 3rd party warehouse providers.

Strengthen and sustain effective communication between the Supply Planning teams and other key stakeholders in the Diageo North America (DNA) Supply and IMC communities, regarding risks and opportunities to the overall supply of finished product in North America.

Support overall management of raw material inventory levels and development of inventory projections that get used to make operational and financial decisions.

Decision Making

  • Proactively identifying supplier capacity constraints and deciding/recommending a course of action based on an analysis of cost and service trade-offs of various options
  • Reviewing and re-optimizing safety stocks required to support service and inventory targets
  • This role requires individual to remain relatively self-sufficient.
Financial Responsibility


This role is responsible for managing overall supply and deployment of components/raw materials in the NA supply points; minimizing obsolescence costs for product and materials; making production and/or inventory sourcing decisions that support Network Supply manufacturing and distribution footprint strategy.

The overall inventory value of raw materials within any Planner's responsibility ranges between $2-25 million.

Management Responsibility

Responsibility includes daily, weekly and monthly planning processes, which drive both operational and financial management decisions. Play active and influential role in major supply chain initiatives and projects.

While this role may not have direct reports, this person is expected to lead/coordinate cross-functional processes and influence peers & superiors across various functions of the supply chain.

Complexity of Role


Planning and overall supply responsibility for packaging components to support production of a subset of up to 40 million cases per year supplied from domestic and/or import production facilities, 3rd party manufacturers, and 3rd party distribution centers.

This role requires the ability to analyze and manage data sources for a total product line that includes approximately 10 brand / class combinations, 238 item codes, greater than 450 SKUs and approximately 5,000 material components.

This role must be capable of performing root cause and trend analysis for critical case volume and inventory valuation data streams.

Role must support Manager by completing complex analytics using a combination of:
Excel, Access, and SAP Manufacturing.

Key Outputs/Deliverables

  • Facilitate a continuous replenishment of raw materials for the bottling process at all supply locations.
  • Ensure efficient communication between Supply Planning team and all production points and vendors.
  • Communicate to appropriate stakeholders any/all risks to ongoing supply of finished product or raw material from all production locations- stakeholders will range up to SVP level.
  • Ensure rolling supply plans developed and communicated to vendors, identifying any potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and manage consistent inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Support management through detailed/complex analytics.
  • Develop, track, and improve materials/supply chain metrics regarding service, cost, and cash flow.
Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Operations / Supply Chain Management, or related business discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in operations and/or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of MPS/MRP and DRP methodology a plus.
  • Manufacturing and distribution / warehousing experience a plus.
  • Excellent data management (spreadsheet) and query skills a must.
  • Proficient in SAP and Excel.
