Director of Platform Informatics

The Director of Platform Informatics will report to the Chief Data Officer. The Director of Platform Informatics will be a technical leader whose team is responsible for creating and maintaining a clinicogenomic datalake along with the ETL processes for genomic sequencing results and interpretations, and clinical data mapping and translation from HL7 FHIR to OMOP standards. In this role, you will focus on accelerating precision medicine through facilitating clinicogenomic data applications and building of an integrated research workbench framework for data querying, cohort building, clinical trial matching, biomarker discovery, therapeutic lead generation, and additional analytics and result visualization. You will work internally with other Data Teams in Bioinformatics and Quality Control, as well as, externally with biopharmaceutical sponsors and academic research collaborators providing an interactive and data-driven view into clinicogenoimc determinants of health and disease.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, implement and maintain healthcare data interoperability strategies, integrating metadata and clinical data from Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and various Electronic Health Record (HER) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Health Information Exchange (HIE) networks.
Manage workflow design, building and testing of interfaces, and support production solutions'
Creation and expansion of a viable, reliable, reusable, extensible platform that enables analysis and exploration of clinicogenomic data as well as reporting capabilities for providers and patients.
Work directly with external customers as well as IT vendors on the development of system interfaces including writing detailed interface specifications that describe how the interface will work.
Communicate, coordinate and escalate interface issues to seek timely resolution and ensures communications are clear and effective with internal and external team members, vendors and key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Computational Epidemiology, Biophysics, Physics, Biological Computational Sciences or a related field.
10+ years of experience in building and supporting large clinicogenomic datasets for research applications and analytic framework integrations.
Extensive experience with AWS cloud computing infrastructure for Platform Informatics workflows and analytic frameworks.
Extensive experience with cloud datalake and database infrastructures (Snowflake preferred); additional experience with access-controlled platform hosting of clinicogenomic data sets for data querying and hypothesis generation by research collaborators a strong plus.
Ability to read or certified to read clinical records and Electronic Health Records.
