Senior Embedded Software Engineer (DataRemote Inc., Miami, FL):


Responsible for feature development and issue resolution for device firmware on DataRemote's product line for a network router and POTS line replacement device.

Responsible for embedded C programming in a Linux environment and requires extensive use of the C programming language, advanced Linux system administration, and a detailed understanding of networking concepts at all levels of the stack.

Automate test design & implementation for lab equipment and the establishment of DataRemote's continuous integration (DevOps) flow.

Design and implementation of firmware build processes, which requires specialized knowledge of DevOps tools, automated build scripting, and embedded drivers/systems.

Assemble all device firmware components and deliver a beta or finished software product to our lab team for evaluation.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience; OR a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Utilizing C programming language and advanced Linux system administration;
  • Utilizing networking concepts at all levels of the stack;
  • Embedded architectures, Python and web development;
  • TCP & UDP protocols;
  • VPN, OpenVPN, and PPTP;
  • Cellular (4G/LTE/5G) and Wi-Fi; and
  • OSI model, packet capture and wire-shark analysis.
International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 5%.
