MORE ABOUT THELPN LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE:

CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by setting new standards for quality care and personalized service. Responsibilities for thisLicensed Practical Nurseopportunity include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assist residents with daily bath, dressing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, preparation for medical tests and exams, ear and eye care and positioning in and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, etc.
  2. Provide nursing functions as directed by supervisor including daily perineal care, catheter care, turn residents in bed, all bathing, measure and record temperature, pulse and respiration, weigh and measure residents, perform restorative and rehabilitative procedure and observe and report the presence of skin breakdowns; review care plans daily, report changes in resident conditions to supervisor; and, record all necessary charting entries and report all accidents and incidents.
  3. Prepare residents for meals and snacks; identify food arrangement and assist in feeding residents as needed; record food and fluid intake; and perform after meal resident care as needed.
  4. Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect; know and comply with Resident's Rights rules; and, promptly report all resident complaints, accidents and incidents to supervisor.
  5. Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patient/family as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.
  6. Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards as observed by the registered nurse.
  7. Assist in data collection on the Admission Data Record.
  8. Contribute to the development of the patient/significant other plan of care based on the identified patient problems/needs.
  9. Carry out physician orders accurately, directly and indirectly.
  10. Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care administered relative to the patient/significant other identified problems/needs.
  11. Document pertinent observation and intervention on appropriate record.
  12. Perform selected tasks related to patient care and the patient's environment in a safe manner.
  13. Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes.
  14. Perform limited I.V. Therapy procedures on those patients receiving peripherally inserted Intravenous fluids, as delegated by and observed by the RN.
  15. Maintain and coordinate communication among patient/significant other, staff, and physician as evidenced within medical record, client, and health care team feedback.
  16. Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients.
  17. Provide patient/significant other health teaching as delegated by and observed by the RN.
  18. Use available written and AV materials specific to patient condition or disease.
  19. Utilize appropriate teaching methods such as one-on-one and group instruction, demonstration, or discussion.
  20. Participate in staff development programs and meetings as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THELPN LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE:

  1. Graduate of a nationally approved Nursing program is required.
  2. Maintain current BLS/CPR certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC)
  3. Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing
