Main Purpose of Job
The Registered Nurse works in collaboration and\r
coordination with Physicians, healthcare team members, and families to provide\r
safe, effective, efficient, quality care to Western Maryland Hospital Center patients/residents.\r
The Registered Nurse will utilize Nursing Professional Standards of Practice,\r
Nursing Code of Ethics and WMHC Code of Conduct to ensure such care. Utilizing\r
the nursing process, the RN is responsible for\r
assessing patient/resident health problems and needs, developing and\r
implementing care plans, evaluating progress toward attainment of\r
goals/outcomes, educating patient/resident/family on illness and condition, and\r
providing emotional support to patients/residents/families. The RN is\r
responsible for carrying out Physician and Licensed Independent Practitioner\r
(LIP- CRNP and PA) orders and treatments. The RN coordinates and delegates\r
duties to other health care personnel with appropriate follow-up of outcomes.\r

This position will work the 3pm - 11 pm shift.\r
POSITION DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:�� Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license�in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence. \r
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. \r
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

2. Employees in the classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations , Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs. \r
