Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG)
Retention Manager

$8,333.33 per month, salary commensurate w/ training and experience

Exempt, non-civil service, full-time, temporary appointment. This position provides programmatic including managerial oversight to the PHIG employee retention initiatives. Data from the Public Health Workforce Interest and Needs Survey, a national survey which provides baseline data for this grant, identifies a need to develop a vibrant employee retention program within the department.

The position will work independently to conduct a needs assessment, design and develop employee program which include professional development, improve employee engagement through systematic internal messaging, and will monitor the outcomes through ongoing employee satisfaction surveys.


Minimum Qualification(s)

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a baccalaureate degree.

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years professional management experience building employee morale. Four (4) years of experience in internal or external communications at corporate or government entities. Experience gathering large volumes of quantitative and qualitative information for planning in employment settings.

SUBSTITUTION ALLOWED: Other combinations of education and/or experience may be allowed, subject to review and acceptance by the Director and/or designee.
