Would you like to undertake a Digital and Technology Solutions degree which is funded by your employer? Are you creative and have a keen interest in coding? If yes, then this could be the job for you


We are looking for a highly motivated individual to undertake a 36-month apprenticeship with us which includes studying for a BSc Degree.

As part of Chelmsford City Council's Digital Services team, an Apprentice Software Developer will work 37 hours per week and learn valuable skills such as:

  • Developing and testing software systems.
  • Facilitating root cause analysis of system issues and carrying out code refactoring and optimisation.
  • Using source control management systems and continuous Integration/deployment environments
  • Writing detailed technical design documentation, specifications and plans.
Applicants are required to match the eligibility of the apprenticeship which includes the following entry requirements:
English GCSE (or equivalent) A-C/L4 or above
Maths GCSE (or equivalent) A-C/L4 or above
96 UCAS points (obtained from further education) such as BTEC, Diploma, A-levels etc.
