Manager, SLPG Float Team

The Manager of the SLPG Float Team leads and manages the daily operations of the SLPG Float Team and is responsible for inter-practice communication, decision making, and allocation of SLPG Float Team resources to Primary Care and Specialty practices.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all leadership and managerial functions across the employee life cycle for direct reports including hiring, onboarding/orientation, performance management (in collaboration with Sr./Practice Operations Managers), ongoing coaching, development, engagement, recognition, etc.
- Develops and maintains processes and policies pertaining to the management, distribution, and oversight of SLPG Float Team resources.
- Manages daily operations in a systematic manner to assure operational effectiveness, timely allocation of resources, and quality service.
- Ensures operational readiness for the department (e.g., developing employee schedules, facilitating daily huddles, updating time management systems, maintaining Point of Care licensing, etc.).
- Understands the relationship between staffing needs, the allocation of resources and labor productivity, and incorporates into decision making.
- Develops, evaluates, and adjusts current and future staffing based upon needs and initiates adjustments as needed.
- Cultivates internal and external sourcing channels for existing underutilized practice resources and external recruits, respectively.
- Institutes process to acquire total performance feedback (spanning competency, skills, and behaviors) to enable Float Team coaching and performance management.
- Collaborates with Primary Care and Specialty departments regarding staffing needs/plans, staff/Practice onboarding/offboard, and Float Pool team member performance.
- Analyzes and delivers periodic reporting regarding Float Team utilization and internal customer satisfaction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to six hours per day, for two hours at a time. Occasionally lift, carry or push objects up to 75 pounds.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in health care, business administration, or supply chain management required.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Three or more years of relevant experience required and one or more year in a health care organization preferred. Experience in logistics and/or resource management preferred. Experience managing others preferred.
