STEM Teacher

Vermont Day School is an independent PreK-8 school in Shelburne, Vermont. The school offers exceptional instruction in academics, along with a project-based approach to learning that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and collaboration.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate and engaging STEM educator to teach elementary and middle school STEM using a project-based approach. The curriculum incorporates specific scientific skills and concepts that align with the standards, while incorporating the design process with elements of math, technology and engineering. The ideal candidate has experience developing interdisciplinary curriculum and knowledge about how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners. The STEM teacher may work collaboratively with other subject area teachers on projects and integrated learning experiences.

Minimum of 2 years teaching Science or STEM Education
- Master's degree in Education or Teaching Certification preferred
- Interest in project-based learning and understanding of Science & STEM principles
- Experience planning and developing interdisciplinary curriculum
- Familiarity with a variety of assessment tools (rubrics, portfolios etc.)
- Knowledge of positive approaches to classroom management
- Experience incorporating technology in the classroom
- Entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, initiative
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excitement about working in a fun, supportive and innovative PreK-8 school community
