If you're up for the challenge, we are currently seeking a Mining Engineer to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Davenport, IA. In this role, you will play a critical part in creating and executing mine plans for limestone and granite operations. With operations in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri, you'll have the opportunity to work across different locations and travel occasionally.

You'll have the chance to design mining operations ranging from 'hard-rock' pits to sand and gravel dredging projects using various material handling methods such as loaders, trucks, and conveyors.

Key Responsibilities of a Mining Engineer include (but not limited to):
  • Planning and designing mines for short term and long term operations.
  • Collaborating with Operations Management.
  • Assisting in developing bid specifications and quotes.
  • Conducting surveys using GPS, total station, bathymetry, and drones.
  • Coordinating overburden removal projects.
  • Providing technical support for various operations.
Requirements for Mining Engineer:
  • BS in Mining Engineering from an accredited U.S. University.
  • 3+ years of experience in open pit mine design and planning.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Preference for Surpac mine planning software experience.
  • FAA license for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is a plus.
  • Experience with GPS surveying is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, oral, written, and analytical skills.
