The Financial Reporting Senior's primary responsibilities are to assist in the preparation of both the Company's and various joint venture partnerships' financial statements. This is a key position in the Company's financial reporting team and will assist with ensuring that the financial statements are in conformity with the applicable basis of accounting (GAAP, Tax, fair value, IFRS or other reporting basis) in accordance with partnership agreements and/or governing documents. Additionally, the role will assist with research and participate in implementation efforts for new accounting standards. The role will also assist the operational accounting group with the application of new standards and will act as an advisor for accounting issues that may arise. The senior will also be responsible for the preparation and tracking of various lender compliance requirements.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of all external reporting requirements, including lender compliance requirements, financial statements and financial statement disclosures at the Company level as well as for the Company's joint venturesWork directly with the Company's external auditors and assist with communication and preparation for the external auditsPerform research and documentation of the Company's policies and procedures as well as new accounting pronouncementsPrepare and maintain accounting policies for the CompanyAssist corporate accounting team in preparing required journal entries for complex accounting transactionsManage and review debt agreements and prepare compliance items, including certifications of financial statementsSeek improvements in current processes/systems and assist in identifying internal controls Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree or higher in accountingCPA required (or CPA eligible)3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting requiredCPA with business operations experience a plusExperience with GAAP related research and application of pronouncements and regulations Must be able to produce high-quality work as part of a fast-paced dynamic teamAbility to work independently in a remote work environmentAbility to work overtime from January through April and occasional overtime throughout the yearStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skills with a sharp attention to detailProficiency in use of computers and software, including Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook and experience in utilizing an accounting software systemMill Creek is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAre you ready to contribute to the success of Mill Creek Residential?
