The incumbent will provide cybersecurity support to all of the aforementioned voice and data equipment stated above in the Position Summary/Introduction section.

Support will include monitoring performance of C3IT and Secure Communications networks and perform analysis of network traffic patterns, network devices, network software, and executive software to proactively detect and correct errors.

Support must also include the delivery, installation, re-keying, maintenance, and replacement of all phones, nodes and facsimiles in the Secure Communications Program network/environment as well as end user training and support.

In this role, duties include, but are not limited to the following:


Responsible for conducting security audits across the C3 network domains, monitoring network data, and ensuring hardware and software applications are updated.

Responsible for uploading security keys to applicable devices.

Develop and maintain written concepts of operations and standard operating procedures for secure voice, video, and data technologies deployed FAA wide.

Develop and document lessons learned during troubleshooting that cover best practices, policies, and procedures on the systems/network environment related to this task.

Responsible for network infrastructure change management, ensuring all deployments and changes to the C3 infrastructure do not create vulnerabilities in our infrastructure with proper mitigations in place.

Applies laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy.
Monitors compliance with relevant government policies and standards regarding cybersecurity and privacy principles, cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Promotes collaborative efforts to reduce risks and threats to critical information, enterprise, communications, and control systems, and may act as a key technical point of contact for assigned activities.

Addresses out-of-compliance issues, prepares, implements, monitors, and updates Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) to correct findings of non-compliance. Supports strategic plans to achieve the program's mission objectives staying within the constraints of the assigned budget.

Supports the completion of Security Impact Assessments and other security assessments required for annual Authorizations to Operate (ATO), and system and communication architectures while also correcting deficiencies.

Recommends architectural improvements and life cycle replacements.

Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist.

Acts as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a team leader for single or small work activities.

Applies experience and advanced technical knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods used to accomplish assignments and to develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies.

Contacts are internal and external. May act as a key technical point of contact for assigned activities.

Contributes to the preparation of management/technical reports or contractual documents, and may communicate the overall results of a project or work activity to FAA management, the aviation and aerospace industries, and other external parties.
