Summary

As the senior geomatics expert at BPA, you will support key stakeholders as a trusted adviser responsible for evaluating and translating customer requirements, business goals, objectives, and strategies into geospatial business solutions.

You and your team will drive business success, broaden the effect of GIS technology for BPA, and help shape the evolution of the Esri platform.

You will provide solutions and thought leadership while promoting GIS technology across the Agency.

Duties

This position is located in the Geomatics (TERG) organization within Real Property Services (TER), Engineering & Technical Services (TE), Transmission Services (T), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).


As a Supervisory Geomatics Officer, you will:
Work on driving continuous improvement, process integration, and innovation by leveraging geospatial technology tools and data to improve BPA's business performance in the areas of:

  • Enterprise and Information Technology Architecture
  • Enterprise GIS
  • Data Integration
  • Asset Management
  • Resources Allocation
  • Decision Making
  • Cost Controls
  • Environmental Management
  • Mapping


This position supports BPA's strategic business objectives by providing strategic planning and visioning for BPA's geomatics programs, products and services, driving the effective integration of geospatial technology tools and data including geographic information systems (GIS), land surveying, global positioning systems (GPS), mapping, and remote sensing.


The Geomatics Officer is responsible for creating an optimal geomatics organizational structure for a highly complex Power Marketing Agency with a large and diverse user community leveraging approximately 630 data layers supporting programs across BPA, including BPA front Office Initiatives, Fish & Wildlife, Environmental Services, and Transmission, Power, Corporate, and Real Property Services.
