AR/AP Specialist

Buffalo Seminary is an independent day and boarding high school for college-bound girls. Position Summary

SEM seeks a personable, confidential, responsible, and energetic person to strengthen our small finance dept. This is a 32-35 hour per week job which includes lunch on school days and various professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable – student billing, collections, and bank deposits
  • Accounts Payable – Enter payables, schedule check runs, match invoices to checks and obtain proper approvals
  • First point of contact with parents/students regarding billing issues
  • Light general ledger work
  • Prepare and track student contracts and associated paperwork
  • Weekly/Monthly reporting to the Director of Finance
  • Projects as assigned by the Director of Finance
  • Front desk back-up
  • Track spending, receipts and payment on school credit cards
  • Some clerical work Qualifications Required:
    • Associate or bachelor's degree
    • Solid background in AR/AP
    • Commitment to continuous improvement
    • Good organizational skills
    • Must be able to work independently as well as with other faculty/staff
    • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
    • Excel and Word knowledge required
