Denver Hearing Specialists is looking for a paid 4 th year Extern for in colorful Colorado (start date May/June
We are a busy ENT practice located in a south Denver suburb. We have 3 full time audiologists, 5 otolaryngologists, and 3 physicians assistants. We are seeking to fill 2 full-time paid 4th year extern positions for the 2025/2026 school year. Students can expect exposure to a wide variety of audiological services in a fast paced ENT setting including:
-Otoscopy
-Behavioral testing on adults and pediatrics (VRA and play audiometry)
-Immittance testing that includes acoustic reflex testing
-OAE's
-Electrophysiclogical testing for retro cochlear work up: BSER/ABR
-VNG/cVEMP testing on adults
-Full diagnostic vestibular evaluations
-BPPV evaluation and treatment (all treatments are performed by AuD's)
-Hearing aid selection and fitting using real ear verification (all manufacturers)
-Performing ear impressions for hearing protection and hearing aids
-Manufacturer in-office trainings are offered frequently
-BAHA fittings
-Operating room observation opportunities for a variety of ear cases
-Assist with walk-in hearing aid repairs, supply purchases, etc.
-Assist with all administrative duties such as scheduling patients, answering patient phone/text messages, sending out repairs, ordering supplies, etc.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: -Currently enrolled in an AuD program
-Strong interpersonal and professional skills
-Proficient in diagnostic hearing evaluations
-Proficient in hearing aid troubleshooting
-Familiarity with hearing aid manufacturers and their software
-Familiarity with vestibular evaluations Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: -Conduct otoscopy and tympanometry
-Perform diagnostic audiological evaluations (for children and adults)
-Fit all major hearing aid manufacturers
-Troubleshoot and repair hearing aids
-Be able to program BAHA devices
-Perform complete vestibular evaluations
