Job Description:

Position Overview: The Azure Datawarehouse Architect will have the opportunity to transform data into actionable insights and drive decision-making across the organization. This role involves being the primary data architect for the Azure Cloud Data Warehouse and Analytics environment, focusing on optimizing the Azure data landscape, modeling data, and creating ETL pipelines for integration into the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Reporting to the IT Director of Data & Analytics, this position requires collaboration with data providers and data owners to monitor and diagnose underperforming systems using Microsoft Data Tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop ETL pipelines on Azure Cloud platforms, optimizing data processing and storage.
  • Analyze raw data to organize and build efficient data systems and pipelines, developing algorithms and prototypes for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Apply advanced data modeling techniques to integrate data from various sources, enhancing quality and identifying opportunities for data expansion to create analytical tools and programs.
  • Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment for data projects.
  • Oversee all aspects of the development process, including testing, troubleshooting, and support activities.
  • Collaborate with business functions to ensure accurate, complete, and available data for analysis.
  • Define, document, monitor, and track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to stakeholders. Escalate technical support issues as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in Azure cloud management and data warehousing techniques, contributing to the advancement of Business Intelligence and Analytical capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
  • Over 10 years of experience in data management with at least 5 years in Azure cloud administration.
  • Experience with the following tools is mandatory:
  • Azure Microsoft Databases
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Portal Administration
  • Expertise in Azure administration, including IAM, storage management, Azure Advisor, Azure databases, and Azure data monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging Python programs, complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and working with SQL Server relational databases.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling architecture, including Star Schema/Kimball dimensional modeling.
  • Strong experience in designing slowly changing dimensions.
  • Power BI and DAX experience is advantageous.
  • Python experience is a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience in the solar industry is a plus.
Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field is required.
