Join our EII – Project Delivery Team as our new Construction Logistics Manager and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

The Construction Logistics Manager is a key member of the EII – Project Delivery team. We are currently searching for an ambitious Construction Logistics Manager for Energy projects who will work closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and owner/subcontractor representatives. You will be responsible for the logistics supply chain for construction projects, including managing the movement of people, goods, and equipment on site.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Plan site set-up to move labor, plant, and materials around site efficiently (e.g., site accommodation, cranes, hoists, security, temporary services, material delivery, etc.)
  • Plan internal and external logistics routes through the project phases focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery, and people.
  • Create a secure site.
  • Manage installation of site accommodation and manage these facilities.
  • Describe the characteristics of the site, including site access/egress, storage capacity, labor, hoists, cranes, etc.
  • Use the description to produce daily, weekly, and long-term movement plans.
  • Understand procurement arrangements.
  • Create a schedule of logistics meetings and ensure logistics is represented at site meetings.
  • Plan and integrate with key contractors to meet the needs of the planned program and de-confliction of on-site space and time where appropriate.
  • Be capable of managing subcontractors to deliver their package of goods or services.
  • Variation control and early communication of foreseeable change.
  • Embrace a project delivery-focused culture.
  • Organize resources to enable contract deadlines to be achieved.
  • Ensuring the organization's safety policies are followed.
  • Creating of site-specific safety manual, ensure first aid cover and equipment is present.
  • Responsible for ensuring that material movement to and from workface does not cause damage to the works.
  • Create a system to communicate information around the site.
  • Define and organize all site signage to the agreed corporate standard.
  • Select a delivery management technique, process, and system.
  • Provide logistics instruction to all project suppliers.
  • Plan to and maximize load capacity on all vehicles arriving at site were possible, ensure suppliers use appropriate vehicles.
  • Maintain an asset register of all equipment.
  • Ensure vehicles and plant are operated safely by trained personnel and in a legally complaint manner.
  • Ensure all equipment is inspected, maintained, and tested to agreed frequencies.
  • Have a knowledge of hoists and cranes.

About you

  • As the successful candidate, you will have a track record within a construction management or logistics function that has led to performance improvement e.g. cost reduction, process/service enhancements, innovation, winning work.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction or logistics.
  • 7+ years' experience of related experience.
  • Personal commitment to promoting sustainable approach to logistic procurement and supply chain development.
  • Excellent communication skills that build empathy and support, engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Intellectual capacity to deal with complex logistics issue, and to implement logistics and supply chain vision, strategy, and priorities. A driver of performance improvement.
  • Strong people skills: The ability to work in a team environment and motivate people in order to achieve objectives.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and efficiently under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of construction safety procedures and regulations.
  • An inspiration manager that can get the best out of individuals and teams.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency using MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel Required.
