Stratford Academy, a PK-12 co-educational independent school in Macon, GA, is seeking applicants for the full-time, 10-month position of Computer Science faculty to begin on August 1, 2024.

The Upper School at Stratford is seeking an engaging, passionate, and innovative Computer Science teacher for the school year. Ideal candidates should be able to teach a variety of courses including AP Computer Science courses, across grades 7-12, based on the needs of the STEAM department. Possible courses include Middle School Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and Robotics.

Candidates with experience teaching AP classes as well as those who have an interest in teaching and/or developing elective courses are preferred. A typical course load consists of 5 class periods and 2 to 3 preps. High school teaching experience is preferred. Please submit a resume to: .

Upper School teachers will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Teach 5 sections of relevant class(es)
  • Create engaging lessons for students
  • Provide highly effective instruction and quality assessments
  • Provide a developmentally appropriate, safe, efficient, and effective learning environment for students
  • Talk to parents about their child's progress
  • Advise students as part of the Upper School Advisory Program
  • Contribute to the larger school community through coaching or sponsoring
  • Maintain current lesson plans and up-to-date scope and sequences, in collaboration with department
  • Meet and work with other teachers, department chair, and Division Head
  • Attend faculty, department, and committee meetings both during and after school hours
  • Other duties as assigned Bachelor's Degree with experience in computer science classes including AP classes.
