Job Description
As a Staff Software Developer in Tools Development, you will be responsible for developing wholistic solutions for both internal and external customers to test and utilize Western Digital devices. These solutions may require development of Linux and Windows applications, interfacing with device drivers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements
Analyze technical specifications and research technologies required to implement the right solutions for the technical challenges
Design, develop and deploy software applications and systems
Test, debug, maintain and develop improvements to existing software applications and systems
Create documentation for technical specifications, user guides, and development guides
Collaborate with teammates to keep code well-maintained by using best practices and established industry standards
Qualifications
REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
5+ years experience and skilled in C, C++
Proficiency with Windows and Linux development environments
Experience with Javascript, HTML, and CSS
PREFERRED

Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
8+ years experience in C, C++
Basic knowledge of Python and XML
Knowledge of device driver development
Experience with test automation, continuous development and continuous integration
Knowledge of Agile SDLC methodologies
SKILLS

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented
