The Learning Strategist - Commercial Sellers continually works with sellers, sales managers, and Geo sales enablement to identify and validate the skills and capabilities needed for specific sales roles to be successful. Based on this information, the Strategist partners with the Learning Architect to create learning plans and/or programs that address gaps in skills/capabilities. The Strategist will provide business management expertise to measure business impact, return on investment, and other relevant metrics, ensuring business process execution from beginning to end.

Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with stakeholders to identify skills required for assigned sales roles/program priorities and takes ownership for the whole learning experience.
  • Creates strategic learning plans aligned to Iron Mountain's strategy and addressing gaps in skills/capabilities
  • Manages strategic sales skills programs that support Iron Mountain's transformation
  • Presents strategic plans and updates to executives on a regular basis.
  • Confidently and credibly conveys critical skills needed from a position of experience.
  • Delineates the true needs of the field (what's rubbish and what is really needed).
  • Helps others to understand the role and how the team can form programs and offerings the field will gravitate towards.
  • Knows what "good looks like" and can explain it to others
  • Manages assigned development budget (if applicable).
  • Partners with the Learning Architect to build impactful skills programs.
  • Defines and demonstrates business impact metrics and return on investment.

Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree; advanced university degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 10+ years in Sales Enablement or equivalent role.
  • Prior experience as a seller is strongly preferred.
  • Typically 6+ years demonstrated executive level presentation or facilitation experience.
  • Experience building role-based learning paths for sellers required.
  • Experience working with sales organizations required.
  • Experience working with sales methodologies preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Executive level engagement –alignment, relationship building, communications, etc.
  • Superior planning, communication, change management, and cultural awareness skills, including financial and global business acumen.
  • Superior ability to quickly lead the adoption of new, complex technology and concepts.
  • Mastery in gauging differences in learning styles within an audience.
  • Superior familiarity with learning content and training solutions.

Impact/Scope

  • Leads sales org-wide training solutions that have significant impact globally.
  • Typically partners with a corporate, business, function manager, Director, or VP-level program lead.
