The Senior Financial Analyst will partner in the review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes. This position provides analytical insight to identify opportunities for process and internal control improvement. In addition, prepares the analytics for month end actuals and forecasting and will assist the Finance and Operations Manager on various projects.

Main job responsibilities:

  • Understand complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles.
  • Recommend internal control improvements and assist with implementation of improvement.
  • Document processes per existing documentation requirements.
  • Understand month end close process and provide back up support as needed.
  • Prepare complex accounting analysis and post associated journal entries.
  • Prepare complex account reconciliations associated with complex journal entries.
  • Assist in development of and maintenance of annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Assist in month end causal analysis.
  • Supports policy development and offers advice regarding accounting and internal control issues, reporting needs, and policy review and changes.
  • Assists with annual external audits.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant state/local, federal and international tax laws and regulations
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in diverse areas of accounting and finance
  • Experience in a manufacturing, medical device or similar industry

Competencies:

  • Must be collaborative and well-organized.
  • Must possess good judgment and work effectively with internal business areas, peers and co-workers as well as external parties and customers.
  • Must have strong computer skills, strong knowledge of Brightree and Microsoft office programs highly recommended.
  • Ability to manage work independently end-to-end, meet milestones and provide deliverables on time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize them.
  • Ability to recognize and direct information to the appropriate business partner.
  • Ability to meet project milestones
