Summary

The position is located in the Statistics Division, in the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Washington DC.

In this position, you will serve as Section Head and technical expert in the areas of development, implementation, and direction of the Poultry and Specialty Commodities Section program of NASS.



Duties
  • Serves as the technical expert in the Branch for agricultural commodities published in ongoing reports, the census of agriculture, and related census programs.
  • Collaborates with all commodity statisticians, to ensure that questionnaires are designed to collect the necessary data for publication.
  • Works closely to ensure that sampling, analysis, and summary meet the needs of the branch and recommends changes to the statistical estimating program.
  • Provides guidance and technical advice for agricultural commodities to members of the Sections, Board members, and Regional Field Office staff.
  • Serves as the Branch expert on commodities and provides responses to requests from industry and other outside of USDA.
  • Serves as a member of NASS agency and department working groups concerned with agricultural statistics.
