\tOur 10-week Summer Internship Program Offers You a Paid Hands-on Learning Experience In Pork And Poultry Production. We Help You Prepare For Your Career Journey By Providing You The Unique Opportunity Of Working In All Facets Of Live Production Along With Valuable Personal And Career Development Experiences. \tGain understanding of our commitment at Prestage Farms to produce high-quality pork and turkey by learning what we do on a daily basis, how we do it, and why we do it;\r

\tBroaden your knowledge of the food system by gaining insight into the many different aspects of integrated livestock and poultry production;\r
\t\r
\tDevelop and build your network as you work alongside members of the Prestage team and interact with fellow interns, industry leaders, and agriculture professionals; and\r
\t\r
\tDiscover different ways you can make a difference for agriculture – as an ambassador or even a next generation leader.\r

\tInterns Will Be Placed In a Division Where They Will Learn The Inner Workings Of The Department, However All Interns Will Participate In Several Other Activities And Events Including\r

\tInterns will work in all departments on the farm including:\r

\tBreeding/Gestation\r
\t\r
\tFarrowing\r
\t\r
\tNursery\r
\t\r
\tFinishing\r
\t\r
\tLand Development\r
\t\r
\tSwine Haulers & Loaders\r
\t\r
\tSwine Veterinarian\r
\t\r
\tSwine Division Interns will also gain insight into our support operations including the two company feed mills, maintenance, garage, warehouse facilities, diagnostic and feed labs, and AI Centers.\r

\tTurkey Division\r
\t\r
\tInterns will work through all phases and learn daily operations for:\r
\t\r
\tBreeder Farms\r
\t\r
\tHatchery\r
\t\r
\tContract Grower Brooder & Growout Facilities\r
\t\r
\tProcessing Plant\r
\t\r
\tTurkey Division Interns will also gain insight into our support operations including the two company feed mills, maintenance, garage, warehouse facilities, as well as diagnostic and feed labs.\r

\tFeed Mill\r

\tInterns will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of the feed manufacturing process including:\r
\t\r
\tReceiving\r
\t\r
\tBatching\r
\t\r
\tMixing\r
\t\r
\tLoad-Out\r
\t\r
\tDispatching\r
\t\r
\tFeed Mill Interns will also learn to operate computer operating systems that run the mill, as well as become familiar with the maintenance and operating systems that keep the mill running.\r

\t\tCurrently obtaining a Bachelor of Science, Associates Degree, or 2-year equivalent degree in Animal Science, Livestock & Poultry, or General Agriculture\r
\t\r
\t\tStrong communication skills\r
