Description:The Nurse Auditor is an expert clinician in the related specialty that combines clinical practice with education and leadership. Oversees and performs the concurrent, pre-bill and assists with retrospective audits of billed charges against medical records to identify missing revenue. Identifies opportunities related to charging properly and determines the root cause. Works with the leadership team to develop appropriate, standard charging and documentation practices. Participates in the annual departmental charge master review. Assist in the training of clinical staff on changes in the chargemaster.
Estimated salary range for this position is $ $ / year depending on experience.
Qualifications:A Bachelors Degree is required. Licenses & Certifications: Registered Nurse Additional Qualifications: RNs hired after 2/2012 with an associate's degree have five years to complete the BSN degree—a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
Procedural coding, billing, and audit experience required. Extensive knowledge of laws, regulations, and rules applicable to billing government payers is helpful. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail. National certification in related department specialties is preferred.
