Mount St. Dominic Academy is an independent 9-12 all-girls high school, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Dominic. The school is uniquely situated in western Essex County and draws from surrounding communities including The Caldwells, West Essex, Cedar Grove, Verona, Montclair, Glen Ridge as well as Bloomfield, Belleville, Newark and The Oranges. We seek resumes from qualified educators of diverse backgrounds who are interested in a full-time Business and Entrepreneurship teaching position to begin in the Fall of 2024. This position reports directly to the Principal. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and teaching certification. An advanced degree and/or experience in an all-girls school are a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching business curriculum at the high school level.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Embrace the Dominican values of Veritas (Truth) and Caritas (Love) and support the school's focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
Teach courses such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Financial Literacy as determined by administration, dependent upon programming and courses offered for the upcoming academic year.
Collaborate with the L.E.O. (Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Opportunities) Program coordinator, working to enhance academic offerings and expand experiential learning opportunities for students.
Enthusiastically embrace other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; master's degree (completed or in progress) preferred.
NJ Teacher of Business Certification: Comprehensive Business Certification or a NJ Teacher of Business: Finance/Economics/Law Certification Bachelor's degree a plus. Candidates with certifications in related fields (Social Studies, Mathematics) and relevant experience may be considered.
Proficiency in utilizing instructional technology and software such as Google Workspace (G Suite), Canva and other presentation platforms, etc.
Knowledge of the best practices in business learning and entrepreneurship.
Understanding of student-centered instructional practices and a proven track record of forging positive and productive relationships with learners.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to successfully interact with a diverse group of stakeholders.
