About the Role

The Dimensional Product Engineer is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the dimensional integrity of the product designed and the stampings and assemblies produced.

Your Responsibilities
  • Responsible to provide communication and reporting of progress/results in achieving divisional goals, and the regular operation of the department.
  • Creates dimensional processes and costs projects through the quotation process including tooling/equipment costs.
  • Ensures tolerance objectives are both realistic and within statistical process capability.
  • Responsible for outsourcing and follow-up of new and existing dimensional and product related projects.
  • Applies World-Class Manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement to the engineering functions.
  • Maintains good working relationships with Cosma sales representatives and customer buyers.
Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a team attitude and excellent communication skills. Must have the technical background and experience to achieve success in the departments goals and objectives.

Your preferred qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering (or Engineering Technology Diploma may be considered) and a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in an engineering capacity and 5 – 8 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in identifying sources of variation and variation reduction. Strong understanding of 2D and 3D variation analysis and forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of stamping and assembly processes, Welding, fastening and adhesives. APQP, PDP (CPMP), PPAP, GD&T, ergonomics, engineering practices, production experience, and other automotive related activities.
  • Must possess knowledge and proven skills in each of the following: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis.
