Job Summary
Under the direction of the Hydrologist Principal Advisor, the candidate is responsible for achieving hydrologic goals of the open pit and underground dewatering programs while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.
- Proactively implements best practices to ensure safety and achieve business objectives.
- Perform maintenance on integrated database.
- Leads instrumentation monitoring, installation, maintenance and data collection for various database systems.
- Ensure that Water Pollution Control Permit monitoring well data is consistently collected and reliable for quarterly and annual compliance reporting.
- Leads technical equipment purchasing and inventory
- Leads implementation and troubleshooting of new and existing technologies
- Leads in scheduling task coordination with mining/dewatering operation department tasks.
- Prepares weekly, and monthly monitoring reports.
- Effectively communicate with site personnel regarding Hydrology Process obligations.
- Ensure that departmental and company goals are achieved by participating in short range mine and dewatering maintenance planning activities.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
- Mentor and supervise other hydrology staff.
- Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
- Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
- Works without risk or harm to self and others.
- Punctuality and regular attendance required.
- Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
- Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering. A Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline will be considered.
- A preferred minimum of three to five years' experience working in the mining industry.
- Experience with dewatering systems, hydrologic and hydrogeologic technologies
- General understanding of mining and maintenance operations, as well as limited understanding of milling.
- Must have the ability to plan, coordinate and schedule time to achieve overall objectives.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in cooperation with other departments at RMGC.
- Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

- Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
