Job Description

We are recruiting for the Lead for the Supply Chain Management team at our Company's manufacturing location at one of our sites. The Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization is responsible for planning of Drug Substance, Drug Product and Packaging at the site. In addition, the team is responsible for the inventory management of incoming goods, including raw materials, product contact components, and primary packaging components. The WP SCM organization also includes the SAP Master Data and Process Center of Excellence for the site. This leadership role is the key interface between West Point, global Supply Chain organizations and our internal and external network partners. The SCM Lead is a critical member of the Site Leadership Team, promoting the behaviors of Safety First, Quality Always as we reliably supply our products to meet customer needs.

Primary Activities Include, but are not limited to:

Safety

  • Support the site in achieving and sustaining a Proactive Safety Culture, including participation from the SCM Team in identifying hazards and act to proactively mitigate risks. Sponsor for Safety Committee goals, both at the department and site level.

Quality & Compliance

  • Accountable that the processes managed by the SCM organization follows Safety, Environmental, Regulatory, Financial and Labor regulations.
  • Accountable for informing Site Lead and Business Owners about events and/or trends affecting supply chain performance at the site that pose risk to business continuity.
  • Responsible for self-identifying and addressing gaps from internal and external compliance expectations, including support during auditing of applicable systems.

Reliable Supply

  • Ensure SCM organization supports the End-to-End Operating areas in effective planning and inventory management to ensure reliable supply of our products to customers.
  • Leadership role in Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators, including visibility and problem-solving to reach established goals.
  • SCM Leadership team is the Key liaison for global Supply Chain and our Network partners, including facilitation of monthly site-to-site meetings and participation in supply event meetings as needed.

Master Data Governance & Process Stewardship

  • The Master Data Center of Excellence resides within West Point's SCM organization, responsible for Master Data governance, Bill of Material and Recipe creation and SAP Process Stewardship (for example: Material Handling and Production Execution).
  • The team is active in deployment of digital improvements to facilitate workflow within the site.

Budget Support

  • SCM Lead is the key liaison to global Supply Chain Management for the annual refresh of the Long-Range Operating Plan and the Strategic Asset Management.
  • SCM will coordinate key elements of annual Budget Development including refresh of product standards and workload.

Talent Development

  • The SCM Lead will have 6-8 direct reports, with overall organization size of 40-45 supply chain professionals.
  • SCM Lead is responsible for coaching and mentoring of team members to support strong performance and professional growth.
  • SCM Lead will be a visible sponsor and ally for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, embedding the mindset within the organization.

Minimum Education Required and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business with ten (10) years of experience working in a regulated environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience working in Supply Chain Management role.
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Analytical thinker with strong oral and written communication/presentation skills
  • Effectively utilize data analysis and visualization tools to quantitatively assess current production and business systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams focused on creating business value.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Five (5) years of people management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing process improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate materials management and ERP data knowledge with a holistic understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma statistical analysis tools.
