Job Overview:

Will serve as the primary Business Development lead for the Port Market, assisting with executing the Ports Growth Plan that is currently under development. That plan will focus on extending our current services to additional Ports, including:

  • Goal is to find local/regional work specific to our contacts or location of existing offices.
  • Seek out information on upcoming projects for potential clients before meetings as well as our existing clients.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Establishing Strategic Relationships: Forge and nurture current and established relationships at the Federal, State, and Local levels, facilitating access and driving substantial business growth for APTIM.
  • Establishing Professional Relationships: Proactively establish and maintain strong professional relationships with government representatives and industry partners.
  • Capture Planning and Proposal Management: Develop and implement capture plans to identify potential work, sell APTIM Ports services, assist with strategic proposals, and secure contracts.
  • Consultative Selling and Business Differentiation: Employ a consultative selling approach to develop compelling business cases that differentiate APTIM's solutions and highlight their value proposition.
  • Supporting Capture Teams: Provide support to capture teams in pursuit planning, development of win themes, and preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Support CPM Business Development: Provide support, when/where appropriate, in selling adjacent Coastal and Flood Control Market services

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering required -- Master's Degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience with a proven portfolio of serving both state and federal agencies required, 15+ years of coastal engineering experience preferred.
  • Have a passion for working in a consulting firm environment on various types of projects.
  • Willingness to travel in support of business and project activities.
  • Strong communications skills and client-facing experience
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Ports Infrastructure and/or Equipment engineering/project management experience required.
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment.
