POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for ensuring that all emerging technology considered and used by the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services are implemented in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and guidelines. This includes establishing policies and procedures where applicable, the review of existing policies and procedures and continuous monitoring of all units within the department for compliance with all applicable technology policies and procedures. This position is a hands-on subject matter expert, architecting and crafting scalable solutions. This position drive data excellence across the organization. Be able to architect technology such as ML Platform and build out the infrastructure to support scalability. Collaborate with stakeholders and project managers to turn business goals in technical solutions. Oversee model training and optimization of technology' being introduced at DPSCS. Consistently coach and mentor the Departments team. Inform and deliver on ambitious technology roadmaps to accelerate DPSCS ability to adopt emerging technology.\r

Lead IT projects as assigned. Advise Senior management of significant problems\r
Assist the CIO with providing strategic direction and planning for Information Technology and Communications for DPSCS.\r
Decide whether policies , procedures, standards and guidelines are adequate.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university\r
Experience: 7 Years of IT experience working in a role focused on emerging technology such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and/or Quantum Computing.\r
Notes: Four (4) years of IT experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.\r
