Position Overview

Join our team as a Coaters Production Engineer to take on project leadership and provide technical support for our coating operations. This role is focused on driving enhancements through equipment modifications, process improvements, and grade optimizations. It offers a promising developmental path with opportunities for professional growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead projects to boost quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while reducing downtime
  • Monitor performance metrics and pinpoint areas for enhancement
  • Analyze production setbacks, implement solutions, and establish preventive measures
  • Develop new procedures and conduct operator training sessions
  • Implement operator-focused systems for streamlined issue resolution
  • Ensure process specifications align with operational capabilities and optimize key variables
  • Support machine maintenance activities during shutdowns and startups
  • Assist in organizing and overseeing operator rounds
  • Set productivity standards and optimize bill of materials per product grade
  • Lead initiatives for workspace optimization, waste reduction, and variance minimization
  • Provide coverage during shift/superintendent absences and rotational weekend support
  • Prioritize safety and promote a secure working environment for all staff
Requirements
  • Experience - Preferably 2 to 5 years in the paper, converting, or coating industry
  • Skills - Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, motivation, teamwork, accountability, as well as experience in project management and lean methodologies
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in pulp and paper or chemical engineering (or relevant technical field)
