Description
The Community Engagement Coordinator shall have the primary responsibility at enhancing the community and student engagement through skills and career development initiatives. The focus is on providing access to construction trades, micro-credentials, internships/apprenticeships, and continuing education, with a significant emphasis on job placement and strengthening external relations. This position will report directly to the Director of Career and Workforce Development.

Essential Functions:

Develop strategies to actively involve the community and FMU students in opportunities such as construction trade programs, micro-credentials, and continuing education.
Take the lead in organizing career and job fairs, employer outreach, informational sessions, and on campus interview programs that cater to the needs of the community and students.
Establish and maintain a robust internship/apprenticeships program to provide practical experience and facilitate smoother transition into the workforce.
Build and sustain relationships with industry partners, alumni, and other external entities to open up more job placement opportunities for graduates.
Foster a culture of excellence at Florida Memorial University by actively engaging and building strong relationships with students, staff, faculty, and external partner.
Implement systems for the ongoing collection of data related to program participation, effectiveness, and outcomes.
Regularly analyze program data to assess the impact of community engagement and upskilling initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to enhance effectiveness.
Systematically collect and incorporate feedback from participants, employers, and community members to improve program offerings and execution.
Prepare and present detailed reports on program achievements, challenges, and future plans to stakeholders and department leadership.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven ability to develop and execute community engagement and programs.
Experience in organizing large-scale career fairs, informational sessions, and similar events.
Excellent relationship-building skills with a range of stakeholders, including students, community members, employers, and academic staff.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information to a variety of audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills with faculty, staff and student populations.
Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to make informed programmatic decisions.
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in student support services
Understands how to read and interpret reports and data.
Presentation and public speaking skills.
Strong computer and analytical skills.
Effective analytical and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the university.
Ability to conceptualize and implement strategic plans for community engagement and program development that align with the institution's goals.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required; Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience in community engagement, career services, workforce development, or a closely related area. Experience within an educational institution, non-profit organization, or government entity is particularly valuable.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
